Welcome!
My name is Eddy Wong and I am a systems engineer in the Denver Metro in Colorado! I have a Bachelors of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Ocean Engineering with my professional interests primarily focused in the aerospace and subsea industries.
Most recently, I worked for Raytheon Intelligence and Space in Aurora, CO. I was hired and placed in the Awaiting Clearance Employee Station (ACES) and while waiting for the investigation for my clearance to process, I trained in a variety of systems engineering concepts including but not limited to:
- The Systems Engineering “V”
- Requirements Decomposition
- Integration, Verification and Validation Fundamentals
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Fundamentals
- Created finite element models in both Flexcom and OrcaFlex to analyze client riser and umbilical systems.
- Performed static, strength, fatigue, and interference analysis on steel catenary risers (SCRs) and flexible risers, as well as umbilicals.
- Served as third party witness for factory acceptance testing (FAT) during fabrication, verifying proper test procedures were followed and that all fabricated pieces when tested (hydro test, gas test, etc) fell within allowable test values.
- Provided support to the drilling riser team as needed, helping calculate recommended top tensions and determining the drilling windows for a variety of drilling riser stack ups.
Clients that I performed design verification or Certified Verification Agent (CVA) work for include: BP, Shell, BHP, Occidental, Diamond, and Hess.
More information about me professionally, including a downloadable PDF of my resume and a description of some projects I have worked on, can be found in my Resume and Projects pages.
If you’re interested in getting to know me better, I have also included a Hobbies page. In my life I have travelled extensively throughout Europe and North America and have backpacked, caved, and kayaked in some truly beautiful locations with a long list of places still that I can’t wait to visit!
Additionally, before college I played hockey and was blessed with the opportunity to play with and against some of the best players in the country, including several future NHL-ers. Since moving to Denver, I’ve slowly been getting back into playing again and it has been fantastic fun (and a shock to the lungs) getting on the ice again!
